October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Hollergirl Music Festival's Kristin Murphy and Jessy Workman came in the studio for an interview to talk the staggering number of women, children and men affected in Kentucky. They shared that one in four women and one in seven men report being a victim of abuse in the home. When we consider the number of children exposed to violence in the home in those numbers, we're looking at a public health crisis that must be addressed and also handled with grace. They also shared the need for year round awareness and their response as advocates, providing resources and support through "Hollergirl Haven."
If you or someone you know needs help or would like to reach out to them, you can contact Kristin through their Facebook Page.

We were privileged to have Pastors Marion and Missy Fawns from Church of the Harvest join us for an interview and discussion about their upcoming special service for those who have experienced miscarriage, stillborn and infant loss. The event is Saturday, October 11th at 2PM and they shared with our listeners how from their own personal loss they realized the need for such a memorial service to help families grieving infant loss. They highlighted the need for building community and connection to move forward after such loss. Hear the entire interview followed by the song that helped minister to them in their own grief by clicking the file below.
