YHM LOCAL CONNECTIONS

The Powell County Health Department is offering a Healthy Living With Diabetes Class starting this Thursday, May 1st at 5PM the Powell County Extension Office – 169 Maple Street, Stanton. To sign up, call the health department by Thursday at 606-663-4360. The Powell County Health Department also offers one on one appointments for diabetes education for those newly diagnosed. And they have a diabetes support group that meets every other month. Call 606-663-4360 for more information.

The Montgomery County Health Department is also offering a free diabetes education course in the month of May. Call 859-497-2448 for more information.

Gateway District Health Department. Serving Bath, Elliott, Menifee, Morgan, and Rowan counties offers a free online diabetes education program called Healthy Living with Diabetes. To Register, contact: Jason McKenzie APRN, FNP-C, LDE [email protected] 606-674-6396 and 606-356-5689

Come walk with me this Saturday at the Stanton City Park for the Powell County Derby Dash, 3K/5K walk/run sponsored by the Powell County Health Department. This is a FREE community event, so load up the family and come on out. Registration on site begins at 9:30AM and the walk/run starts at 10AM. You can pre-register by calling 606-663-4360
