We were thrilled to have Adalyn Ramey in studio with her family for Bluegrass Breakout ahead of her new album release, multiple nominations for prestigious awards and her upcoming show at the Mountain Arts Center August 16th opening for Woodbox Heroes. Adalyn Ramey is an award winning 13 year-old singer/songwriter and musician from Paintsville, KY. Known by many as "The Young Appalachian Storyteller," her original songs capture the heart and soul of the people of Appalachia. With her original songs about home, life and faith, Adalyn has a passion for making music and sharing her stories with the world. Her original songs have received airplay on radio stations all around the world and she’s had 7 different singles appear regularly on Top 20 bluegrass and gospel music charts, most of which were recorded on a laptop in her guest bedroom. In 2024, her songwriting earned her nominations for four awards at the Appalachian Arts and Entertainment Awards, two awards at the Hollywood Independent Music Awards in L.A., and three awards at the 10th Annual Josie Music Awards at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. Her original song “Another Kentucky Christmas” was recently named Best Bluegrass Christmas Song of 2024 at the Holiday Music & Film Awards in Jacksonville, FL. Adalyn keeps a full schedule, performing shows at renowned music venues and festivals throughout Kentucky and beyond. She has performed on stage with many Grammy Award winning artists including Ricky Skaggs, Rhonda Vincent and others. Adalyn signed her first record deal with Dreamland Entertainment Group in 2024, and her much anticipated debut album is set to release very soon! Enjoy the full show with the download below:

Kristin Murphy and Jesse Workman were special guests on Bluegrass Breakout recently to talk about this year's Hollergirl Music Festival and Oasis Farms. Hollergirl returns for the 4th year, continuing their mission of empowering and uplifting female musicians by providing a stage for their voices, talent, and stories to shine. The event seeks to honor women in music and inspire the next generation of female artists. Working in cooperation with Hollergirl is Oasis Farms, equipping and empowering mothers to escape domestic abuse by providing employment and onsite housing at Oasis Farms, where they grow nutritious food used to reduce food insecurity in Eastern Kentucky. Back in early December, we had the extreme pleasure of hosting Jill Hamlin from the Mountain Arts Center. She is also half of the Country Music duo known as "A Little Bit More." We were also thrilled to have Sarah Beth Terry, Estill County native and singer songwriter visit with us while in town promoting her new album, Estill County Rain.
